Up, Close & Personal with Stuart Roberts...
Stuart joined OrangeGenie back in October 2005, the same week that Arctic Monkeys were at No.1 with ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ – surely that can’t be a coincidence?* His life at OrangeGenie began in the Invoicing Team and he has worked his way through every department in the company, learning the individual processes over the years, before settling in the Sales team where he has been since 2009.
Stuart looks after our key accounts, providing advice, support and training to our recruitment partners whenever needed.
One thing you’ll notice straight away about Stuart is the blank expression on his face when the word ‘football’ is mentioned. Stuart is possibly one of the only men in the world that doesn’t follow it, but he does make an effort to try and scan the sports news on a Monday morning so he can scrape by in a conversation. Try asking him what he thought of the result at the weekend - he might surprise you.
So clearly, there’s a big football shaped void in his personal life that he fills with other things. For starters, he’s a big fan of MotoGP so if you’re one of the other three fans in the country, you’ll definitely have something in common.
Also you may not know it, but Stuart is more than likely tried to sell you something in the past – Dominos Pizza, tickets to Cineworld, clothing from Next or a mobile phone service from MTV which never took off. This is because in his spare time Stuart is also a voiceover artist and has been working with a variety of different companies over the years.
Currently, Stuart is all over Capital FM and Heart, so if you’re laying in bed one evening and miss his dulcet tones, just stick the radio on. Or even better, give him a call and he’ll talk through your umbrella and accountancy needs – two birds with one stone.
*Stuart doesn’t look good on the dancefloor, not that he seems to take any notice of that each year at our office Christmas party.
