Up close and personal with Mohammed Imran

I have always had an interest in business and at the age of 15 I was given my first opportunity of setting up a ‘business’ as a project for my Business Studies GCSE; as it was during the summer months I had the idea to sell cornettos during the break. 

I gained valuable experiences from the project including purchasing, pricing and most importantly profit. From this point on I knew that the business world was the one where I wanted to eventually go.

Whilst at University I studied Business Economics which gave me a good overview of how different economic factors such as interest rates, inflation, unemployment, economic growth and government policy effect businesses.  The budget is one of the very few items that I have pencilled into my diary each year; yes I know I should get out more!

Before joining Genie Accountancy I worked in a general accounting practice dealing with small business owners. I thoroughly enjoyed working on all aspects of the accounts; but the one that gave me most pleasure was being a trusted advisor and being able to help out my clients with whatever query they had.

Small business owners form the backbone of the British economy and it is being able to help out these people that I would say is the most important aspect of my job.

Being a Client Accountant allows me the opportunity to really get to know you and your business. Whilst you concentrate on your contract and what you do best, I will be taking care of all of your statutory work and monitoring your records to allow me to give you proactive advice. I am more than happy to assist you with any queries that you may have and hope to build up a successful working relationship with you.

I am currently in the final stages of the ACCA qualification and hope to become a Chartered Certified Accountant in the not too distant future.

Outside of the world of accountancy; I enjoy cricket, supporting Manchester United and enjoy watching movies.
